I agree with WMT's #1 - guys will look at a woman and ask themselves, do I want to have sex with her? If the answer is yes, he'll put up with a lot. Of course, if he runs into deal breakers while he is getting to know her, he can abort the chase, and maybe those deal breakers fall into the 100 questions your friend is talking about.

As for #2 - even if he suspects she 'd answer no, meaning she doesn't want to have sex with him, he will still pursue her for some amount of time if he really wants to have sex with her. There have been many times I got a cold shoulder from a woman, but I was doggedly persistent and eventually won her over. Women love to be chased.

I don't have 100 questions, but I do have a few I ask before pursuing a relationship - do I want to sleep with her? Is she cute? Nice? Intelligent? Sexy? Compassionate? Not psycho?

I love the image of kissy face for 2 hours. I gotta find a bar like that!

100 Questions? No.

Whether the man is interested in being sexually intimate or not, the questions to be answered are the same.

#1 Do I WANT to have sex with this girl... aka Am I physically attracted to this girl. If a man is attracted to a female, he wants to have sex with her. This is truth.

#2 Does she want to have sex with me?

Two YES answers are a green light. Whether the man is correct in his assumption of #2 is irrelevant. If he thinks he sees the finish line, hes gonna run for it. This means enduring "The Very Odd Chase".

He probably called you every day because your little make out session made him assume #1 and #2 were YES. And he probably gave him a bad case of the Blue Balls. Yes, it does happen and it is not an urban legend.

mistyjade- ok so i agree completely! after another week of deliberation...i have a BRAND NEW conclusion...

the boy nxt door, ended up in my case being the clinche...and then turned out being just the friend i wanted...nothing more..

things were looking on the upside for us, friends since tots, knew everything about one another, the embarassing strories from when we were kids had already been sorted blablabla....anyways

a new embarassment came around, as we had only been strong friends for years rather than an item, the embarassment came when things happened between us...it felt like i was with my brother- which made me feel ill!

Hes a boy who i will treasure for life, however, i will never pursue such antics again as it didnt seem to work for me..

Advice- if u think things r right, then go for it....what do you have to lose? friendship?- maybe, but we managed to work things out and stopped before things got too difficult to work around.

until then...goodluck lovelife- one story after the next! but hey we are young, we are free!

Funny story. Drunk texting does not leave a good feeling in the morning.....I've recently done it myself. I wish there was a way to lock the phone before you drink so you can't text.

This is too funny. When I lived back east for a while we used to go clubbing at this one great spot. If the dance floor got too crowded, we went next door into the gay bar. We're straight, but they always had great music. But then if it got too crowded THERE, especially with us being straight guys and girls, the gay bar would put gay porn on their video system to chase us back to the next door bar where we started out. I'm not making this up!

In conclusion to your peice, I must admit I think it is superb and have had as similar experience, however, my story has both sides:
I live in a small hamlet, where everyone knows everything about one another, I use the phrase 'boy next door' however both of the guys lived on the opposite side of the village. The first fitted the description and experiences posted by mistyjade, nevertheless the other with alot different....
I have never chased a man my whole life, and then I met (shall we call him Harry) Harry, we have been friends since we were kids due to the size of the residence etc. We both went to seperate schools but got bk in contact when we hit late teens and started going out together at weekends with a new bunch of friends. It was as if I got my old life back, I had had years of a different social network and finally I was back! Then we started getting interested in one another, this was more like the crushes you have when your around 14, but he had me on the end of a string! I had fallen for, unfortionate to admit, the boy next door. At present the suituation is still comensing and Im the typical love sick female! Iin the back of my mind though there is that element of....memories, the kid who ate crayons, the kid who put glue in your hair...this is all to be talked over yet with harry but the atmosphere for that conv. doesnt feel favourable!

I believe that women do like the mysterious men in society, however, could it be possible that the person we are all searchin for has been under our noses the whole time? The guy who may not have a fantastic car or job, but hes round the corner. - not only does he know the embarassing childhood stories but the uncomfortable aspects that happen at the start of a relationship are now abolished...?! This concept is yet to sizzle out, but no doubt will keep an update.

the boy next door...the real soul mate?/
